DSA Research Volunteer (Summer Project)

Thomas Pocklington Trust is seeking a volunteer to support a short-term research project exploring the experiences of disabled students receiving Non-Medical Help (NMH) through Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).

Working with TPT and the University of Birmingham, you’ll help conduct interviews with blind and partially sighted students, graduates and support professionals to identify challenges within current NMH provision and develop recommendations for the Department for Education.

This opportunity is:

• Remote.
• 6–8 weeks.
• 2–3 days per week.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct and support 4–6 stakeholder interviews.
• Analyse research findings and identify key themes.
• Contribute to recommendations and a final report.
• Help shape policy and practice for disabled students.

About You

• Interested in research, disability inclusion or education policy.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of DSA and NMH is desirable.
• Qualitative research experience is helpful but not essential.
