Student Transitions

We are thrilled to continue our transitions programme, STEP. This programme is designed to equip blind and partially sighted students with the tools and confidence to navigate key educational transitions.

Whether you’re in secondary school preparing to move into college/sixth form or currently in college/sixth form planning your transition to university, STEP provides you with the information, advice and support you need to succeed at this crucial time.

The programme covers overarching themes and includes tailored sessions around a variety of different topics. With a blend of online and in-person events, we’re here to support you every STEP of the way!

This year, our theme is socialising #SocialEyes and we’ve crafted a diverse range of events to help you build connections and thrive socially.

Upcoming Session: Assistive Technology and Navigating Social Situations  

• Wednesday 2nd July – For students moving to further education  

• Thursday 3rd July – For students transitioning to higher education  

• Time: 6-7pm (Online)

This session will offer practical advice and insights to help you: 

• Develop your skills in using assistive technology

• Gain confidence in navigating independently using tech tools that work for you

• Live demonstrations from our assistive tech expert, showcasing tools and strategies you can start using right away
