Become an Intern

Our Get Set Progress internship programme supports visually impaired people to move into sustainable, full time work. We partner with organisations across the UK to create meaningful, paid internship roles and then fill them with talented individuals. We are just launching new roles for 2026.

The internship positions are advertised like any other job opening; however, eligibility is exclusive to blind and partially sighted job seekers. Successful candidates spend most of their week working directly for their host organisation, then attend internship learning and development activities delivered by Thomas Pocklington Trust on Fridays.

Since 2015, we have proudly supported more than 150 interns on their journey into employment – with three in four participants finding employment, education, or training within six months of leaving the programme.

The programme is delivered in partnership with RNIB; intern salaries are jointly funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust, RNIB and the host employer.

Whether you are entering the workforce and looking for that first step on the career ladder, or returning to the workforce after experiencing sight loss, Get Set Progress could be the programme for you. Keep checking our jobs pagefor details of new intern roles.
