Rodney PowellThomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) is proud to announce that its former Chair, Rodney Powell, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list for his services to blind and partially sighted people as part of the Trust.

He has been a trustee for 36 years of which 26 were as Chair. The current Chair, Mervyn Williamson, said “I’m delighted that Rodney Powell’s contribution to Thomas Pocklington Trust has received such prestigious recognition. I have admired the way Rodney has led TPT over such a long period of time and I look forward to continue working with him in his role as trustee.”

Thomas Pocklington was Rodney’s great uncle. Following in the footsteps of other family members who were instrumental in the founding and running of TPT, Rodney has been particularly involved in the management of the investment property portfolio – its continued success is the basis for TPT’s work to improve the lives of blind and partially sighted people.

The New Year Honours list recognises the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom. Rodney was one of 397 people to receive an MBE in the New Year Honours 2020.
